Where to Stay in Niagara Falls, Canada
Choosing the right hotel is key to an unforgettable Niagara Falls experience. After extensive research, two stand out:
- Niagara Falls Marriott Fallsview Hotel & Spa: Rated as the top hotel for its unbeatable proximity to the Canadian Horseshoe Falls, luxurious amenities, and stunning views. Perfect for couples or families seeking a premium stay.
- Sterling Inn & Spa: A boutique gem with a romantic, modern vibe. Guests rave about its spacious rooms, top-notch spa, personalized breakfast, and short walk to the falls. Ideal for a cozy getaway.

How to Get to and Around Niagara Falls
Getting to Niagara Falls from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) without a car takes planning. Here’s the breakdown:
- Shuttle/Bus Services: Online, shuttles (3-hour ride) seem plentiful, but early mornings are limited. I arrived at 5:30 AM and would have waited until 9:20 AM for a bus. Check Niagara Airbus or Megabus schedules ahead. ($20-$45 CAD)
- Train: Via Rail to Toronto’s Union Station, then a 2-2.5 hour train to Niagara Falls, is luggage-heavy and inefficient. Skip it unless you’re leisurely. ($12-$20 CAD)
- Taxi/Uber: I negotiated a $200 CAD taxi (1 hour) from YYZ, $30 below Uber’s quote. The return Uber was similar. It’s pricey but convenient.
- Rent a Car: As you’ve probably learned by now we are big Discover Cars fans. They compare trusted providers and secure the best rates before arriving! We’ve partnered with them for our custom booking widget below:
In Niagara Falls, the WEGO bus system is a game-changer. This hop-on, hop-off service hits all major Niagara Parks attractions along the 56km Niagara River Parkway, with an optional Niagara-on-the-Lake route. Buy tickets at Welcome Centers or Niagara Parks. Note* if you’re considering buying an Adventure Pass, know that WEGO transportation is included! More below.
How to Experience Niagara Falls Attractions
Since 1887, Niagara Parks has mastered tourism, starting with Table Rock House. Maximize your visit with an Adventure Pass (Classic, Plus, or Ultimate) from Welcome Centers at Table Rock, Grand View Marketplace, Clifton Hill, Murray Hill, or Rapidsview. Their concierges will help customize your pass and book attraction timeslots across multiple days. In June, timeslots were flexible, we arrived hours late and waited under 10 minutes. July-August is peak season, so book early. Attractions offer restrooms, eateries, and gift shops.
Passes include WEGO transportation, read the details of each pass or talk to a concierge at a Welcome Center to see which suits your needs best.
Pro Tip: Grab a souvenir passport and collect stickers at each attraction for a fun keepsake!
